Homestudy Services

We offer homestudy services in Domestic Adoptions, Embryo Adoptions, and International Adoptions.

As a Hague Accredited Service Provider, One World Adoption Services provides quality homestudy services for families adopting in Convention and Non-Convention countries. For families adopting through an agency outside of Georgia, Hague Accreditation will allow us to easily work with your Hague Accredited Placing Agency.

We are pleased to offer Homestudy Services in the State of Georgia. If you reside outside of Georgia, please contact us for a referral of a homestudy agency in your state. We also work with families adopting domestically and families adopting through other placement agencies.

Cost: The cost of the homestudy is $1500 for domestic adoption and international adoption. It is important to use a Hague Accredited Adoption Service Provider for your homestudy. If you are not sure if the country you are adopting from is a Hague Convention country, you can check the Department of State’s website:
http://www.travel.state.gov/family/adoption/convention/convention_4197.htm

Timeframe: We will contact you within 48 hours of receiving your application. Typically, the homestudy process takes 2-4 weeks to complete, however we also offer expedited service when necessary for an additional fee.

What You Can Expect: Three visits are required, and at least one visit must be in your home, possibly all of them. You are also required to provide some paperwork and documentation for the homestudy. All of this information is available below. During the homestudy process, your caseworker will discuss issues such as your personal history, education, marriage (if applicable), and parenting skills. You will also be required to submit evidence that you are physically and financially able to parent a child or children.
