Children : The children available in China are usually infant girls. The children are generally healthy and are of asian descent.

Requirements : Married couples only may apply. Parents must be at least 30 years old and no older than 50. Applicants must be married for at least 2 years. If divorced, you must be married for at least 4 years. Applicants with criminal records, or who have taken anti-anxiety medications in past 2 years, or who have more than 2 divorces per couple will not be accepted.

Adoption Process : Families must complete a dossier to submit to the authorities in China. A referral of a child is made approximately 15 - 18 months following submission of the dossier. Once a match has been made, parents may travel in approximately 8 weeks.

Travel : One or both parents may travel to China. The trip is approximately 2 weeks.

Timeframe : The process typically takes 24-30 months from start to finish. This is due to the large number of applications to China. New requirements have been made by the CCAA to limit the number of applications. China is still the most stable and reliable adoption program. As requirements are implemented, the wait times will start to decrease.
